Tommaso is from Italy and grew up enjoying the snowy mountains in the winter and the salty seaside in the summer. He studied Mathematics at the University of Pisa, focusing on computational mathematics, and worked for a software company becoming a programmer. He then decided it was time to pursue his dream of becoming a scientist: he quit his job and joined the Master program in Computational Science and Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. Fascinated by the project and the possibility to merge computations and biology, he started to work on chromatin structure simulations together with Lennart Hilbert in the groups of Nadine Vastenhouw (MPI-CBG) and Vasily Zaburdaev (MPI-PKS) in Dresden. Since working with biology feels so good, he now joined the Hilbert Lab at KIT, continuing to work on simulations as a scientific assistant (HiWi). When away from the monitor, he likes to hike up the mountains, camp in the wild and fly his paraglider.

Ciao Tommaso, sono David cugino di tuo babbo.
Ho saputo dell’evento e colgo l’occasione per felicitarmi con voi e per mandare a te e tua moglie i miei più affettuosi auguri.
Nonostante la distanza spero ci sia un giorno occasione di vedersi. I miei genitori mi hanno raccontato di essere stati molto bene il giorno del tuo matrimonio e di avere uno splendido ricordo di tutta la vostra famiglia.
Quando ci vedremo la prima domanda che ti farò è di spiegarmi in breve in cosa consiste la ricerca che segui. Sono davvero molto curioso.
