Chiara was born and grew up near Baden-Baden. Her fascination for natural sciences was developed during school, where she chose biology as one of her main subjects. She started studying biology at KIT and wrote her bachelor´s thesis on molecular aspects of the vascular systems of zebrafish. She continued her master´s at KIT and started her master´s thesis in the Hilbert lab. Outside the lab, she enjoys reading and occasionally sewing.
