Xenia was born in Karaganda, a big city in the eastern center of Kazakhstan. Just aged three, she and her family moved to Schwedt, Germany, and later on to a small village near Rottweil, where she spent most of her schooldays. Right after graduating from high school in Königsfeld, she went to Karlsruhe to study biology at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. While working on her bachelor studies, she now gains her first insights in scientific practice at the Hilbert lab by exploring the mechanisms of DNA droplet formation.
Apart from that she is interested in reading, playing music and studying a variety of languages, but most probably she is found combining the fascinating complexity of nature and art through painting and drawing.
