Süheyla was born and spent the first years of her life in Constance, and later moved close to Stuttgart with her family. After graduating from high school she started to study business informatics. She quickly realized that this subject was not was she expected. She then decided to do an apprenticeship as biological lab technician, as she preferred to work in a lab rather than in an office. For her apprenticeship at the KIT at the Institute of Applied Biosciences Department of Microbiology she moved to Karlsruhe. During her training of 2.5 years, she worked mostly with bacteria, fungi and nematodes. She now works at the Hilbert lab as a technical assistant.
